We recently had our SS15 photoshoot and what a successful day it was! We took to the streets of Kensington and the Notting Hill area to capture the brand new collection landing online at DDR very soon. Our beautiful model, Ikí Lynn Norgren rocked every single look and we can’t wait to show you the final lookbook. For now, here are some fantastic sneak peek images that we took behind the scenes.
Shot by the talented Rosaline Shahnavaz, our photoshoot manages to capture the carefree yet well-cut shapes of our brand new sleeveless jackets. Inspired by waistcoats and sleeveless designs from the 50s, 60s, 70s and 80s, our exciting new collection is perfect for spring/summer when it’s warm enough to swap your jacket for a sleeveless number instead.
SS15 catwalks in London, Paris and Milan all served a nod to this retro look and celebs such as Olivia Palermo, Shay Mitchell, Solange Knowles and Victoria Beckham have all been sporting the sleeveless jacket in recent months.
Our new collection here at Dawson D Rose includes the Chepstow Jacket, a classically stylish waistcoat style sleeveless jacket and the Elgin Jacket which is a boxy design with sleek lines and a contemporary feel. Both sleeveless jacket designs can be customised with your own choice of fabric and under collar detail, just like our current jackets collection.
We also shot some more of our fabulous ready-to-wear collars and new images will be added to our online shop very soon. Keep checking in and follow us on Twitter for the latest new product announcements.
Thank you to Rosaline and Ikí for a fantastic shoot – we’re now very excited to share our gorgeous sleeveless jackets with the rest of the world.

We’re thrilled to be launching our brand new sleeveless jackets this month, so make sure you look out for these fabulous new designs on the Dawson D Rose website. Our new sleeveless range was designed in the Dawson D Rose studio and we thought we would take you on a virtual tour of our creative working space. The lovely blogger from Lucieloves.co.uk took these fabulous shots of the DDR design studio and we’re thrilled to be able to give you a little sneak peek behind the scenes. If you’ve always wondered what a day in the life of a London fashion designer is like, take a little look…
Our studio is brimming with garments and fabrics, and with a view overlooking London’s beautiful Notting Hill, we’re always inspired by London culture and London street style.
We put a lot of thought and consideration into the fabrics that we choose. And if we’re ever stuck for inspiration, we just head down to the prestigious Portobello Market, which is at the heart of our brand. Every jacket detail, every pattern and every print is born from ideas taken from London’s vintage markets. And that, we believe, is what makes Dawson D Rose stand out from other independent labels; we take classic, time-honoured looks and recreate them for the modern female.
What you’ll also find in our studio are lots of magazine pull-outs and mood boards. We don’t just take our lead from vintagewear; we also look at today’s most desirable trends and assess which ones will be the most robust over the next few seasons. Unlike throwaway fashion brands, DDR is passionate about creating wardrobe essential items that will stand the test of time.
At a glance, the DDR studio may seem a little eclectic to the first-time visitor. But look closer and you will see that each piece features some spectacular details. We offer customisable under-collar and pocket details so it’s not unusual to see our team buried under endless printed fabrics…
We hope you’ve enjoyed the little tour of our studio. We’re proud to share it with you as the heart, the powerhouse and the inspired HQ of our quintessentially British brand. If any London based bloggers or press would like to gain more of an insight into the brand, don’t hesitate to contact our team. Email email@example.com.
We have exciting news. The DDR designer has been working hard behind the scenes to bring you a brand new product for SS15; a new sleeveless jacket available in two fabulous styles! The chic waistcoat trend has certainly been making a comeback in recent years. From the fur gilets of the high street to the reworked denim waistcoats of vintage fashion, sleeveless is all the rage.
But we’re not followers of fashion at Dawson D Rose. We prefer to work with the classics…
This sketch was the birth of our Elgin Sleeveless Jacket (available in March). Available in one sleek, flattering length, Elgin is beautiful and elegant. This is a boxy style long waistcoast with simple lines and is bang on trend for 2015. As with everything else at DDR, it is customisable with your chosen fabric and collar lining and is available in sizes S/M/L.
As well as our new Elgin women’s waistcoat design, we also have the new Chepstow Sleeveless Jacket (available in March). This classic buttoned design comes in two different jacket lengths; short and long, both fully customisable with jacket fabric and collar lining.
Keep checking in on our online shop for these fabulous sleeveless jackets. Or see what styles we have available in our current jacket range.

Earlier this month Dawson D Rose had the 2014/15 photoshoot and we were delighted to have three astoundingly beautifully models wear our custom made pieces, including our stylish made to order jackets and our cute ready to wear bow collars. They all rocked in Dawson D Rose and we couldn’t be happier with how the day went.
Our shoot location? Where else but the fine streets of Notting Hill? From the elegant white washed streets of Brunswick Gardens to the windy rooftops overlooking Kensington Palace, our chosen location is an ode to DDR’s distinctively British story.
Our three models included the adorable actress and Swedish beauty, Ikí Lynn Norgren who loves Swedish minimalism and the similarities in British fashion; the talented blogger and model, Sabrina Carder who has a passion for photography as well as running her style blog; and the striking Hannah Owen who looked fiercely elegant in our Ladbroke shirt and our Ledbury Jacket.
We’re thrilled with the finished photos and we love how the three distinctively different girls are able to show how Dawson D Rose designs can be worn by any woman, from any walk of life. No matter what your style – smart, feminine, boyish or eclectic – our pieces can be styled to flatter your wardrobe.
Our shoot took place on a mild, breezy day with spells of sunshine; true British weather for a true British brand. Thanks to our photographers, Rosaline Shahnavaz and Benjamin Haywood and our hair and makeup artist, Pascale Maestri who helped to bring the whole shoot together.
The collection is now available to order from our website or you can see more images from our shoot in our current DDR lookbook.
